Optical Image Technology, maker of the DocFinity suite of document imaging, document management, and business process management software, has been approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of General Services as a 2009 COSTARS vendor. The program allows local public procurement units and state-affiliated entities that are registered COSTARS members to piggyback on state contracts to buy goods and services cost-effectively.

The goal of the program is to provide municipalities, schools, and other state-affiliated agencies better contracts with competitive pricing using state-approved vendors. Approximately 6,000 Local Public Procurement Units take advantage of existing Commonwealth contracts.

Plum Borough, one of many municipal governments using DocFinity software, was the first to purchase DocFinity document and content management software through the COSTARS program. The borough’s goal is to enable quick and cost-effective desktop access to documents for residents, auditors, and contract and/or grant applicants.
